Disney World is a great place to visit right after Thanksgiving, all the decorations are up, but the crowds can be overwhelming. I have been a few times DURING Thanksgiving and the crowds are unbearable. The weekend after Thanksgiving (not BLACK Friday weekend) seems to be ideal. Not too many people and really no long lines. The week leading up to Christmas and New Years seem to be CRAZY! It’s difficult to get a priority seating reservations much less a hotel. The Animal Kingdom front desk told my group that December 29-30 were their busiest days of the year. That was surprising because I thought summer would be the worst. January 2-5 seemed to be the best. We went this year and the crowds were minimal and we were able to ride everything we wanted (even without a fast pass) with only about 20 minutes being the longest line. The key is to plan your holiday trip for the right time OR make your reservations early.
When I went to disney recently they said that it is MUCH less crowded after the new year’s weekend
I agree! What was your favorite park? Were all the Christmas decorations still up when you went?
