    Comprehensive Medical Insurance
When travelling abroad by cruise or other travel, comprehensive medical insurance is extremely important. Coverage of available policies varies greatly. There are many points to consider. Some ‘insurance’ such as Medicare and Medicaid provide very limited (or no) coverage while many cruise-line policies only provide coverage while aboard. This means that if you are off the ship except as part of a cruise-line organized excursion, you may not be covered.

For a policy one should at least consider:
    * Evacuation insurance. This provides evacuation in case of a medical emergency.
    * Cancellation Protection Plans may include insurance.

Shopping around for various policies can get better coverage or save signifcant amounts of money.

I don’t have any specifics to recommend as of yet, but will hopefully do so in the future!

The big players in the travel insurance are CSA, Access America and AIG Travel Guard.

Given that being evacuated from a cruise ship can be quite expensive, it is important to have insurance for the small chance you will need it.

There are other companies to consider too, but here are the web sites for the three mentioned:

I always book through AAA and they take care of the insurance, that way I don’t worry about it. I, of course, have to pay for it but they always choose what’s needed. I also always get my agents cell phone number, just in case there is an emergency when she is away from the office.

A comprehensive medical insurance is extremely important. Some insurance ompanies such as Medicare and Medicaid provide very limited, and some don’t cover insurance when your abroad or in a cruise but that would be better if the insurance covers in cruse.

Insurance is as important for good and enjoyable travelling as tickets for the proper flight or comfortable hotel. Travel health risks are sometimes not noticed by people at all – and this is the best case! Insurance is not need often, but when something happens to you in a exotic location and you are not insured you are ready to pay twice and thrice the sum you would have paid for insurance, but it is already too late. One of the best health insurance tips is to take care about the insurance several months prior to your trip, especially if you for for a long ocean voyage or to a distant country.
