Did anyone visit Jamaica or Cuba before? Please post it here, and I’d like to hear from you guys! ;)

I’m very curious about going there in Havanna, Cuba. :)

I think you will find a lot more people who have been to Jamaica than Cuba. From pictures, Cuba is beautiful, but US law doesn’t allow direct flights, so fewer people go.

Really??? Why can’t we go there in Cuba? How about sneaking up there by a boat?

Sneaking by boat out is common! ;-)

We can go but not directly. It is primarily due to the embargo to try and bring liberty to Cuba. Whether that is a good policy has been under a lot of debate each time it was brought up.

People generally fly to Canada or Mexico or the Bahamas or something and the go there. (I have not done it, so I am not sure of those particular countries today)

I heard Castro is not friendly with USA – but he only likes the former President Jimmy Carter. He doesn’t like George Bush and his father too. That’s strange.

Well, Fidel is now serious illness and he gave his powers to his brother, Raul. Did you hear about this last year? Not really last year, like 7 or 8 months ago.

I think Jamaica would be better. I am sure that Cuba is just as beautiful it seems like a lot of time and trouble could go into planning (and eventually taking that trip). I know people that have vacationed in Jamaica and love it, they go back every year with other families. Usually they all pitch in and rent a big house. The houses come with staff that prepare all your meals and do housekeeping. It can be costly but when you split it with other families, it’s not so bad.

I want to go too. Perhaps when the economy gets better that would be a trip my family and I could take. Of course, that might be one of those vacations when I would not want to come home. :D I would love to go and just ride a bike everywhere we wanted to go, that would be fun. :)
