Never heard about the red undies. We eat black-eyed peas and greens for good luck on New Year's Day.

Are you laughing because you do that, too? Or because you never heard of that custom before?

The stores around here sell out of black-eyed peas towards New Year's. You have to buy them early! I bought mine at the beginning of the week, and there were only a couple of bags left on the shelf!

I have heard of it, it's an old custom. I'm surprised you haven't heard of it, Zoltan.

Have a Happy New Year everybody! Hope you can all relax and enjoy yourselves over the weekend

MURF that sounds really good! I'd like to add that to the sauerkraut & pork menu, for sure. Yours must be especially great, because you actually make it the good old-fashioned way from "scratch" with dried beans!

I just Googled images for black-eyed peas & greens, and there's a huge variety of ways to prepare that! Maybe you can share your own recipe sometime, unless it's a deep family secret :D They all look pretty delicious!

I do the kraut and sausage, too. I don't care too much for black eyed peas.
