Halloween Discussion Forums, Costumes, Horror!

What are everyones favorite Halloween traditions when you were younger. I would love to hear them!!

It has to be the memory of me and my family sitting around the dining room table with a box of art supplies, making decorations for the windows of my parents old farmhouse.

My grandma would always make a scarecrow and put him on the front porch. I remember getting my grandpa's old jeans and flannel shirt and helping her stuff them with newspaper and straw. Good times.

These are great! My mom would get a huge pot and make homemade rootbeer for us with the dry ice (so it looks like witches brew) I can't even remember if it tasted good but the effect was really special.

making home made decorations and masks are a couple of favorite traditions for me

We did this for about seven years straight. Two or three days before the party a bunch of us would get together and have a mini-party while carving up to about a hundred pumpkins. hahaha yea the year before last my dad and i sat down and had a few while we carved many a pumpkins we own a ten acre farm out in Beulah Alabama where every year we grow 10 acres of pumpkins its so much fun .. we let a couple of the elementary schools around here bring a few classes and let the little ones pick out a pumpkin for like 5 cents a piece its really fun.. they used to be free but the kids just LOVE paying something like mom's and dad's do so we charge them a nickel for any pumpkin they pick

after that, what ever pumpkins aren't sold at the markets we take and either cook them into what ever (the seeds too! pumpkin seeds are great) or they're carved into a many a jack-o-lanterns

Well I would wake up and watch some halloween specials then help my mom do some last minute decorating inside then I would help dad build the front yard cemetary. My parents, my sister, and I would all carve a few pumpkins each and set them up. We would all get our costumes on and my dad would take us TOTing while my mom stayed home and handed out candy. We all would then go to the halloween festival and watch the fireworks then go home and get full on candy

that sounds like a good evening to me

It's pretty great, now I do all that but leave for the festival around 7pm and stay on stand-by with the Fire Department guys (the fire hall is about 200 feet away from the fair grounds where the festval s held) incase we get a call.

well that's convinient.. well maybe this year you guys won't get any calls

Hopefully not, but even if we do we will definatly make the patient's day by showing up in costume
