It occurs to me though, things have changed since I last hung out with y'all?

Oh, fun! I missed that one. In the mid-80s, I was beyond cartoons myself, and did not yet have cartoon-watching kids. Now, 90s kid shows I know pretty well.

I've pulled out a few of my stalwart Halloween dvds already, though I think I'm mainly watching Grimm right now. On Labor Day my daughter put on Scooby-Doo and the Witch's Ghost, which is a pretty good one.

As far as the topic goes I have been wrapped up in The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, I'm almost finished with Wednesday season 2,

I've skipped around Love Death and Robots and (don't judge...) I'm up to season 6 of The Gilmore Girls.

It's the most recent thread we have been using, though it really doesn't matter because there are about 50 different threads around here for the same topic.

This is a classic for us 80s kids, and Disney has done a lot of Halloween specials since then, the most recent one we watched was Mickey and Friends: Trick or Treats from about 2 years ago. The kids liked it, I thought it was fine for what it is.

I just started Haunted Hotel on Netflix.

It's cute, and I will probably binge whatever is available this weekend.

It's somewhere between Bob's Burgers and Family Guy as far as the writing and animation go.

We watched the whole 10 episode season this weekend and we liked it. My favorite character was Esther, though I'm not sure why she was drawn to look like a guy. The last episode reminded me of the THOH segment called Time and Punishment, where Homer repeatedly traveled to the past to fix time. It's a good series, and I hope we get a few more seasons.

I hadn't heard of this one. To me, Haunted Hotel conjures images of Vincent Price.

We did get a compilation of Vincent Price movies on dvd last weekend. It was labeled "Volume 3," and I'd never heard of any of the movies. But there is a group of Edgar Allen Poe stories he performs as a one-man show, and those are interesting and worth having.

ETA: and now I'm thinking maybe I conflated the titles Horror Hotel (Christopher Lee) with House on Haunted Hill (Price), lol. We also have a substantial compilation dvd set of many B horror movies from the 50s and 60s. They're fun, but after a while they all run together.

I rewatchd 'The Fog' yesterday and completely forgot that John Carpenter basically took his 'Halloween' cast, added a few better known actors and plopped them down on the seaside and came up with a very enjoyable watch.

I got a lot of DVDs with old horror movies from the 50s and 60s from a yard sale a few years ago for cheap, but I've only watched a few of them, some of them were good, while others were just hilarious. I actually still have CDs and DVDs from 2001 that are sealed in their original wrapping, I got them right before I moved so I just put them in a box and I found them a few years ago. I didn't bother to open them and I don't know if I will, the CDs aren't worth anything, but some of the DVDs are pricey because they are first releases that are long out of print, so I might list them.

I also watched the whole season of Black Rabbit on Netflix, and Marvel's Zombies in one night, they were both good shows.

I have a couple of Halloweenish tv series I try to watch this time of year, Grimm and Moonlight. The latter was a rather good vampire romance that lasted only 16 episodes, sadly. We also have every season of the tv series Sleepy Hollow, which started out great and then lost its way, we thought.

I'm not sure I've ever watched all the old horror movies we got in that multiple dvd set. Horror Hotel, which I mentioned above, is worth a watch.

We also acquired the classic Universal monster movies when Walmart was selling them in boxed sets a few years ago. I'd never seen them before, and they were better than I'd imagined they'd be. The Mummy was especially good, I thought, and knowing that movie enriched our appreciation of the '90s Mummy, which is a family favorite of ours.

I'm not well versed in Halloween animation, though my daughter is a huge Scooby-Doo fan, as I've said before. I like all the Tim Burton animated features--Nightmare before Christmas, of course, but also Corpse Bride and Frankenweenie, which I find endearing.
