The "don't say Halloween" Halloween game.

Post by DemonSlayerMau » Thu Mar 26, 2009 10:36 pm

It's simple really, we can discuss things that have to do with Halloween...but we can't say the word Halloween.
For example, we could mention our displays, our black cats, trick or treating, horror movies etc...but you can't say the "H" word.
You get a point for each post that doesn't have it in it, and - 1 point for each time you say Halloween. (Since this is the first post, the game will officially begin in the second post.)
The person who calls it out saying so and so said Halloween gets to steal their point.
I think it'll be hard because we ALL know what's on everyone's minds on this forum!
Oh yeah, and the topics HAVE to be related to Halloween, you just can't SAY Halloween.
And this first post doesn't count. If you want to ask about the rules, put your post in parentheses, and it'll be considered a neutral post so if you mention Halloween in a question post no points will be deducted or gained.
Oh yeah, person with the most points wins!
This probably seems crazy, crazy, a graveyard theory,
A ghost tried to approach me and got leery.
Ask him a question and he vanished in a second...

A great idea! :D

It is my most favorite time of the year. Because of warm memories as a little kid trick or treating. And horror movies!
Halloween wraps fear in innocence,
As though it were a slightly sour sweet.
Let terror, then, be turned into a treat...

Candy, scary stories, Jack O'Lanterns and a whole hose of scarie trick or treats are why I love it so much.

Black cats are my favorite part of it. I can't wait until I get my own place to do my own haunts, and there will be black cats everywhere! Of course, dressing up in costumes and handing out candy to kids when they trick or treat is fun too.

Pumpkins, a mid night motorcycle ride, plenty of old horror classics, Trick or Treat candy, and a fire in the fire place.

i want to go trick or treating!!
Last night 'twas witching Hallowe'en
Dearest; an apple russet- brown
I pared, and thrice above my crown
Whirled the long skin; they watched in keen;
I flung it far; they laughed and cried me shame
Dearest, there lay the letter of your name!

The first signs of the holiday that precedes Thanksgiving is that it is autumn, and the leaves are changing color and the pumpkin harvest has begun.

My favorite part of the autumn solstice however is taking stock of the seasonal decorations that are near and dear to my heart.

The many jack-o-lanterns and scarecrows that I have squirreled away in heavy totes over the years, along with numerous ghosts (and various body parts), all lend excitement to the impending change of seasons.

On the night before All Saints Day the scent of a freshly carved pumpkin and the flicker of it's light on my treasured knick-knacks, brings on a warm remembrance of years passed and the hope of many more All Souls Eve's to follow.
All you that doth my grave pass by,
As you are now so once was I,
As I am now so you must be,
Prepare for death & follow me.
