NATUREPIXIE wrote:Okay, here's the invitation that my hubby and kiddo's picked....
I made three samples invitations for them to choose from: a witches hat , a cauldron w/ a witch hat beside it, or a black cat...
This one got all the votes!!! (except for mine, I liked the witch hat.) LOL

What sort of party is it for? A kids party or an adult party? Are you looking for cute invites or classic invites? I do cardmaking and always make my own invites - this is a sample of the ones I made last year:
Unfortunately the flash of the camera obscures the fact that the little black cat and bats glitter, and the moon is actually metallic gold!

Darn flash.
So if you knew exactly what you were looking for, I could custom make them for you? I don't charge very much and at least they would be unique

Thanks Magickbean, right now I'm just thinking about having an adult party. I have to convince my wife before I go any further. Thanks for the offer though, I'll let you know.

No worries, HH

Offer is open anytime.
I sort of sprung the whole "we're having a Halloween party" thing on my other half.. although I don't think he was too surprised lol

Wow, you guys are much more creative than I've been - I just use evite!! We only make a few invitations (one-sided, quarter of a page & cut in 4s) for the people without e-mail or whose e-mail addies we don't know.
You've inspired me, though. I think this year instead of the boring text I usually use, I'll do all the info in rhyme. Rhyming I can do - I did my speech/toast for my sis' wedding all in Seuss-inspired rhyme.

magickbean - did you use a computer to print out the font?
I think those are adorable

OK, you guys got me rhyming. This is how my evite now reads:
My favorite holiday is nearly here,
Halloween is drawing near.
In the month of October, on day seven-and-twenty
Expect ghouls, goblins and ghosts, for there’ll be plenty.
Be at my house when the clock chimes nine
That’s at night, not morning time.
For food, drinks, and dancing never to end
At least ‘til you leave the party, my friend.
To join us in the contest fun,
In your very best costume, be sure to come!
Bring your friends and bring your date.
We plan to party ‘til really late.
By October 14, please RSVP
So I have enough food for you and for me.
If you’re allergic to dogs or allergic to cats,
Bring your meds to take care of that!

mandy0221 - Thank you! ^_^ Did you mean on the ouside of the invite or inside? The outside writing I did by hand but the inside writing was a poem I write typed up and then printed out
Larissa - Great rhyme!! Your invites are gonna be ace

This year I'm trying something new. I'm writing the invites in lemon juice. The guests will receive a "blank" piece of paper in the mail. (Not exactly blank tho. It has some Halloween-themed pic's on it with a vampire saying, "We'd love to have you for dinner.") My kids think it's cool. My wife has her doubts that people will figure it out. [/img]
