At the risk of being banned forever.....pumpkin guts are NASTY! UGH! I can't be at home when hubs empties them out. If I am there and see it or smell it, I vomit. My oldest will rinse all the seeds off for me so I can cook them. After much spraying down with Neutra Air and disposing of guts I can hang around for actual carving lol. I have seriously contemplated buying the fake carveable pumpkins...but I haven't been able to bring myself to it. It just seems so wrong. We always have a good time going to the patch and picking one out and stuff. So yea, that's my deep dark secret.

I think it would be cool to have such a vacuum because I could still pull the guts out of the pumpkin and then use the vac to clean them up off the floor. No matter how much newspaper you put under the pumpkin, something always gets on the floor and it's too slippery to pick up. And there's always that little bit you can't get out of the pumpkin, too. So, yeah, I'd go for one of those!

I can't help but love posting to a topic that contains not only the word "guts", but also the word "pumpkin". If only you had managed to fit the word "cheesecake" into the title, I wouldn't post to any other topic but this one.

Like I said, there is such a thing as a wet/try shop vac that you can buy at any major hardwear store or at Sears. $50.00 for a really good one. the only thing is that you have to be DANG SURE that you clean it out after vaccuming up pumpkin guts, because if you dont' it will stink to high heavens, and you still have so thourghly scrapt the inside of the pumpkin so the guts and seeds don't stick.

I'm going to contact HalloweenCom and have you banned for all eternity
....ONLY KIDDING!
It is quite bizarre because I have never come across a Halloween lover like yourself who hasn't had a love affair with pumpkin guts. The only problem I have ever had with guts is that sometimes it seems to slightly irritate the skin on my hands, which may be due to a mild allergic reaction, i don't really know. And good call on sticking with real pumpkins, guts aside, they can't be beat.
Thank you for being honest and letting us all in your deep dark secret

Speaking of pumpkin guts, we actualy use to cook, salt and eat the seads when we were kids. My mom had a way of dry roasting them on a cookie sheat, after adding regular table salt. We could eat them all day.
