At the risk of becoming the great nerdy cliché, I'm gonna go ahead and say it. The books were much better than the movies.

The book is usually always better than the movie.
But in this case, I don't have enough patience to read all the books.

I enjoy the movies, never picked up the books, but my wife has read em all

Rarely is the movie better than the book. I'd have to say that the book Trainspotting was excellent, but the movie really tightened up a frenetic plot and a tangled mass of characters, and was really better than the book.

to me to the harry potter movies were better than the books... i read one a while back and started reading the next 2... barely finished the second one... didn't even get half way through the 3rd
