I will be going as a black cat, as I have every year as a mom! I just wear blue jeans, but I pin a black cat tail to my backside, and wear a black turtleneck, and of course black cat ears. It's comfortable and fun, and the kids love it!

Now, ds, 6.5 is going as a mad scientist, and I'm very excited this year because of his costume. Every other year, I had such a hard time coming up with a little kid costume that really reflected his personality! He's not into any kind of character, and I won't let him do anything too scary, so last year out of desperation he went as a cowboy. Don't get me wrong, he looked really good! But this year he is going to be a mad scientist (I don't say the 'mad' around him, he likens it to being an 'angry' scientist :D so I just call him a scientist around him!)

I got him a wonderful child sized lab coat to wear over a white button down shirt. Also black pants, white socks (like Jerry Lewis in the Nutty Professor), and a black bow tie. I need to find a black rubber rat to pin onto his shoulder, and some goofy glasses. He wants his hair with streaks of green, plus my dh pilfered from work a test tube, so I'm putting green glue in there, having it turn translucent, gluing it to a jewelry pin and pinning the test tube to his lab coat. I wanted to spike his hair but he looked at me like I was crazy!

He's going to have such fun!!

I was a Werewolf last year so scratch that... maybe I'll get a new mask like always and be that? Usually I buy a new mask and accessories to go with it but end up being something I already have.

It seems that my costume has been chosen for me. My dad's partner brought me a cool long Vampire cape with the big collar and everything. At first I wasn't too keen on the idea but if I think of how scary she could make me I warm up to the idea even more. I love bloodthirsty scary costumes.
So it's a horribly warped Vampire for me, with an awesome cape.

I usualy just plop a pair of vampire fangs in my mouth to answer the door to TOTers, but I have played around with the idea of dressing up as some kind of monster. I prefer more classic horror themes like vampires, wearwolves, ghosts, etc. My problem is my weight, and finding decent costumes that fit. After my bariatric surgery, I'll probably have better luck, but I don't know if I'll lose enough weight by Halloween 09 for it to really make a difference. I'm thinking that by 2010, I just might be able to fit into a decent costume. I'm thinking a fancy suit, cape, cane with a silver wolf's head and a pair of fangs. Some "Dark Shadows" music in the back ground, and I'll answer the 'Trick or Treat' door as Barnabas Collins.

But for 09, I'll probably stick with just a pair of fangs and my sound effects CD.

2 of my girlfriends and I were in a wedding a few weeks ago. We are all teachers in the same school and for school we are all wearing out dresses and going as beauty queens. "Miss Understood", "Miss Guided" and "Miss" something else we need another Miss.

At home I always dress as a creepy old green faced witch to give out candy. I have a big old pot and use dry ice. Pull out spiders and rats and give out sometimes.

For my party, I havn't decided yet. Something sinister.

I'm just going to stick some fangs in my mouth like I usualy do. My spirit is high, but I have no oomph these days. I'll make up for the cop-out costume by showing the silent classic "Nosferatu" and playing scary music in the back ground.

I'm thinking zombie this year. I don't have the money to get a really good costume, and the fabric usually is so thin that I freeze to death within minutes. That's what I get for living in southwestern PA, I guess. I have a white tank top that I'm just going to stain with blood and throw some blood on my skin. f it's too cold I'll just throw my black hoodie on. Is it possible for fake blood to stain black clothing? I'm hoping to find a special effects kit that's cheap so I can have a realistic zombie bite or something.
