It used to be sticks and stones can break my bones but words can never hurt me. Now it is sticks and stones can break my bones and words can hurt me too.
They think that gives them the right to shut people up with whom they disagree.
It is disgusting.

Well, I am not going to let political correctness, Covid 19 or the presidential election put a crimp in my celebration of Halloween. In fact, I think all of us, the good people of Halloween.com should declare Halloween to be free of all but the spooks and monsters we're accustomed to knowing and loving on that day.
And that's what I am going to do. I do plan to vote, and I do have various posters supporting my candidate, but on October 31, they get put in the garage, and only Halloween gets focused on this year.

Then that will be my official position. Election or no election, HALLOWEEN is for celebrating HALLOWEEN ONLY. I'll put all my posters back out on the front lawn on Nov 1st, but on Oct 31st, it will be Halloween decorations only on my front lawn.
On a side note, this has the potential to be a great Halloween. We get a full moon, and it's on a Saturday. Too bad the presidential election had to clutter it up.

Well, in a presidential year, the election always does "clutter up" Halloween. In fact, you can usually predict the winner based on which candidate's image sells the most masks.
That said, I am fine with keeping politics out of my Halloween.

Iād prefer to keep Halloween, just Halloween.

Besides that, it seems every time I go to facebook, all I see is politics or Covid 19 posts, and it's getting boring. All the bickering back and fourth, and some of the worst offenders, I'm sorry to say, are some of my own relatives. I posted some pics I shot of the abandoned Women's Prison in Dwight last March, and they turned it into an argument about Covid 19. Another time I posted a picture of a squirrel on my window sill, and they turned that into an argument about politics.
IT'S ENOUGH TO MAKE A DOG BITE HIS FATHER!!!!
I need some GOOD CLEAN HALLOWEEN FUN!!!

What a beautiful image!
Mike, it made me laugh to think that a squirrel is now political.

I swear, some people aren't happy unless they're turning EVERYTHING into a political argument. I'm taking a break from facebook, because I'm fed up with all the Covid 19 and political bickering. I can't believe how easy an innocent comment can offend someone any more.
Again I say, IT'S ENOUGH TO MAKE A DOG BITE HIS FATHER!

I was taken with it when it popped up one day.
I wish the world was lit like that all the time.
