Go see Friday the 13th when it comes out, that will get you in the mood.

It's kind of weird, but spring weather gets me in a Halloweeny mood.

It's been cool and sunny here. It's just not allowing me to get back in the mood yet. Plus I almost got Halloween overkill last year. I got SO into it and perhaps burned myself out a bit. But come March when we start getting the thunderstorms every other day I'm sure I'll get back into it. But I'm still here and still check in frequently. I'm not going anywhere.

I'm in a Halloween mood through out much of the year, and this Friday is it. I can't wait. But late September, the decorations go up, and within the first week of October my first pumpkin gets carved and lit.

Thunderstorms can be creepy and get you in the mood to be scared. It hasn't rained here is so long, we could use a good storm.

Nothing like a fire in the fire place while reading a good horror book, or watching a classic horror movie. Last Saturday I watched Lon Chaney in "Son of Dracula" by the fire side.

Me too.

It's because the sunlight and shadows (plus the temps and weather in general) are the same as in the fall.

The bummer comes when summer arrives.

I think for me it's because after a few months of cold, wet, freezing, crappy weather it finally becomes warm and the snow melts. The warm muddy weather reminds me of a creepy muddy graveyard out in the woods. I don't know if that makes sense to anyone else.

I know exactly what you're talking about. There's a period each spring, for a week or two, where you still have that "fall" feeling. The air is crisp in the mornings and the trees don't have their leaves yet. There's no snow on the ground, but things haven't really started turing green yet.

I'm happy to get through winter, and when I can actually start moving things out of the garage, I start thinking about Halloween and what I need to start building. Coffins, tombstones, signs, etc. And in April, it's time to germinate those pumpkin seeds.

Oh, and I just recently found this site, so I am very eager to chat with fellow yard haunters, swapping techniques and ideas.
