This looks really cool. I didn't mind the Keanu Reaves version, but this one looks a bit closer to the source material, at least in the actor they chose. I'm surprised it's going on network TV, but the trailer looks good.
We're the farmer's scarecrows
We scare away the birds,
We keep the farmer's corn safe
Without any words.
But when Halloween comes
We jump out of the ground
And we scare the boys and girls
When they come walking 'round.

I agree, I think the movie was underrated in a lot of ways. I haven't seen him many movies, just Bill & Ted, Constantine, Much Ado About Nothing, and The Devil's Advocate. Totally missed the Matrix and Speed movies.

The first Matrix is great, the others are torture.

Promise all of us right here and now that you will never, EVER watch him in The Day the Earth Stood Still.

Never.

You fiend!

I was this close to purging that memory.

I'd heard that about the Matrix movies. I can promise that as I Never really wanted to see The Day the Earth Stood Still remake. I have the War of the Worlds remake because my SIL hated it so much she just gave it to me in case I ever wanted to watch it. Should that one be equally avoided?

I'll say this about that; it's Spielberg.

It looks fantastic and the sound effects are mesmerizing.

It also has plot holes that you can fly the Death Star through.
