Carnival operates approximately 22 ships with 2 new ones destined to come on-line in 2009 and 2011 (Carnival Dream and Carnival Magic respectively).

Carnival owns Princess Cruises, Holland America, Seabourn, P&O Cruises, AIDA Cruises, Costa Cruises, Ocean Village and Cunard (which was nearly fully absorbed in the late 1990s). Including these brands, Carnival currently operates approximately 81 ships.

      Notable ships that they operate:
Queen Mary 2 and Queen Elizabeth 2 both under the Cunard name which are the few uses of the name today.
Carnival Destiny – the first ship to be built over 100,000 grt, although the two new ships above will be around 130,000 grt

I find that Carnival has the best deals…but i find their boats not as well kept as the other cruise lines. Also, if you have any friends who tend to be mischievious or boisterous, they are not afraid to ban them for life! I’m so excited there is a place for cruise fans to chat! This is awesome!!!!!! Whoever set this up is a genius!

Do you have friends who were banned for life?

From what I have seen with Carnival, I would agree with regard to the state of the ships. I tend to go on the higher-end, better maintained ships, but there is a market for all budgets and so love hearing about ships that I haven’t been on. Have you been on any Carnival ships?

What do you think about the children’s activities aboard Carnival Cruise ships? Or the food?

I was on the Miracle on 8/13 with 3 friends and we had a great time. The main dinning room was wonderful the crew went out of there way to make our dinning a fun experience and the food was great they even had low calorie choices. Our balcony room was also wonderful the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom had alot of room for 3 women with alot of hair products.

But I hate to say I have no idea who designed this ship. The main pool was 4’6 and very crowded if you got up at 3am you wouldn’t have gotten a lounge chair. Finally we found the adult pool which was 5’2 but only 7 feet long a ship this size with a pool that small? what were they thinking? and all the adult entertainment was at the small pool along with the food and music. I also never saw my CD on NCL I couldn’t get away from her!

I do not think I would ever cruise with Carnival again. When I am at sea I like to lay in a chair and swim when I get hot. You couldn’t move in the Miralce pool never mind swim

It sounds like some nice things on the ship, at least it wasn’t all bad! That pool sounds awfully small, you are right. I like the idea of the chair, a book, and a nap. ;-)

The pool was the only issue I had with Carnival. What I have seen is people boarding a ship with there swimming suits under there clothes. So I am not alone in loving a lazy day at the pool.

The food was great, the show in the dinning room headed by Frankie was fun. But the pool thing really makes me say what were they thinking. Maybe the pools are bigger on there other ships.

This seems like a very friendly informative place

Ok . Thx :) I know that on the Disney Cruise they have an adult pool that is heated, (when it is cold out) has jacuzzis right next to it, and a cafe. The adults all look like they enjoy it!

I took my daughter who was 11 at the time to Disney, It was a shore ex. on the NCL Spirit. I will never forget the heat in Orlando that day it was 102 degree’s. But we did all the things she wanted to do in Magic Kingdom. Then we were off to Nassau were mom loved the beautiful clear water.
