Disney Halloween Cruise

SO excited and cannot hardly wait! My husband is self-employed (mobile mechanic) and he says he is having to "flog" himself to get his work done! It is sugarbeet harvest here in Wyoming so he is keeping a bunch of older-than-the-hills trucks running for the farmers for one more year (some of these trucks are 4 trucks taken apart and put together to make one truck!) I got a new digital camcorder and have been practicing up! We have been to Europe before but never for this length of time. Unfortunately, the dollar is so bad it's taking a beating. Travel sites are warning about exchanging your dollars for Euros and no place in Rome will take dollars anymore. It is VERY expensive using taxis or shuttles. The train is fairly cheap but when you have a lot of luggage it is not very convenient (lots of bums and panhandlers too.) Train is safe and fast but not for everyone. I got an email yesterday that there are still unsold rooms on a 12 day coming from Barcelona to Florida and an interior room was 399.00! It was around Thanksgiving but I think you missed the big travel rush dates. Vacationstogo.com always has last minute unsold cruises. Mary

I am going on the Disney Wonder over Halloween. Today I received information that prizes will be awarded for costumes: funniest, best group most spooky, most original, and most Disney. I think this will be so much fun. I already have some ideas but I am waiting to see what my friend wants to do. Disney does say NOT to bring anything that resembles a gun, knife, (any weapon),or anything offensive. I am just SO EXCITED!!!!!!

That sounds like a good idea…just kidding. If you are going with family, maybe a family theme (crayon’s in a box, a happy meal). If you are going with a significant other, you could chose any famous couple. Henry the VIII and Ann Boleyn (with her head), Jack and Kate (from LOST), Harry Potter themes. I think it would so much fun!

I think couples (or brothers and sisters) should dress up like the princess’ and princes’. I think that little kids should dress up like the cartoon characters on the Disney Channel, like the Little Einsteins. Disney should have a big Villian party with games and music, and the big prizes awarded out should be a free week long cruise for the family.

I really don’t think that if your going with a significant other you can go wrong with either (a) Scarlett O’Hara and Rhett Butler,(B) Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn, Jack and Kate from LOST, a Bride and Groom, or Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy.

I’m sure lostgurl will write back too, but I haven’t been on one yet, but I think that it will be a fun thing to see. On the Disney Cruise they have a "Pirates IN the Caribbean" Night and there are a lot of people with pirate costumes on which is pretty fun.

The Halloween Cruise was AMAZING!!!!! We had so much fun! The ship was decorated and was not scary, just festive. It was my first time to go on a cruise without my children and I was a little worried that it wouldn’t be as much fun but it was, just different. I had been on 4 Disney Cruises before this but always with my kids, there are so many things to do that are adult friendly. We went for coffee at The Cove (a coffee shop on the upper deck that was just as good as any Starbucks), ate at Palo (which was delicious), enjoyed the Spa (Belle and Wendy were the best) and were always seated with other adults traveling without kids. I did miss my kids but really enjoy myself. If you are planning on taking a cruise without the kids, the Disney Cruise is FANTASTIC
